CLOSE TO HOME

Instead of diving into homes, neighborhoods, or market updates, I wanted to share what's been on my mind.

What has been going on in Minneapolis lately has deeply affected me, and I know it has affected many of us. As a lifelong Minneapolitan, I have felt scared. I have felt embarrassed. And I have felt a deep sadness for a city I care about so much. 

This is a monumental moment for our community. And if there is one thing Minneapolis continues to show, it is strength. Again and again. In ways that are real, complicated, and human.

I am proud to live here. I am proud of this city.

Yes, Minneapolis is a great city. We have beautiful infrastructure. More shoreline than Venice. A chain of lakes that connects neighborhoods. Historic mills and warehouses transformed into homes and shared community space.

But above all of that, it is the people.

It is neighbors protecting and caring for neighbors. Artists, musicians, and creatives bringing people together through murals, music, and gatherings. Small businesses stepping up for one another, becoming places for safety, information, and connection, and choosing community over convenience. 

That is what defines this city.

It is the people.
